On Wednesday, September 5, 2018 Vicki Wright passed away in her home at age 70 of natural causes. She was born to Capt. Earl “Duke” and Nadine Davis, 2nd of 4 children in Eugene, OR. Being a military family, her early years were spent in Arizona and California before landing in Selah, WA. Married to Chuck Johnston in 1967, she met the first love of her life – her daughter, Chanda DeLane Johnston. Over the years she worked several jobs in the valley including journeyman carpenter at Hanford (she was very proud of that!) before ending up working for Washington State Department of Ecology where she made some lifelong friends.

Shortly before leaving work for health issues, she met the second love of her life – her grandson, Chase McCubbins II. He meant the world to her!
Before her vision started failing her, Vicki liked to take trips looking for and collecting antiques. She also gardened, was well known at Terrace Heights Greenway Bingo, and enjoyed Legends Casino. I was told that she was quite the cheat at boardgames when she and John were little. We played a lot of them over the years and I never noticed that so either the smoke was good or she grew out of it. Either is possible.
Vicki is survived by daughter Chandra Whitney of Shelby, MT, grandson Chase McCubbins II of Shelby, MT, brothers Dean Davis of Sheridan, WY and John Davis of Woodinville, WA, baby sister Niki Davis of Yakima, and nieces and nephews Alex and Matt Davis, both of Woodinville, WA and Sam Davis of Sheridan, WY. Her pets Jasper, Smudgie, and Daisy are devastated.
In death, she is joining her loving companion of 20 years, Ed Silva, with whom she did not want to live without.
No formal services are planned.
