Laura Mae Sperry was called home peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father, July 3, 2018, while surrounded by family.

Born June 9, 1940 in Ontario, Oregon, Laura grew up in Yakima, WA with her parents, Osmond and Mary Vallem and her six siblings. Laura had a passion for life and lived each moment with purpose. To all who knew her, she was a unique and caring individual who touched their lives with her generous and loving kindness. Her greatest love was her family.

Laura grew up working in the orchards with her family and continued throughout her life. She was a graduate from Yakima High School and Truckee Meadows Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Accounting. Laura worked as an account manager throughout her life. She also worked bingo for several years. If you were lucky enough to win the pig in bingo, she made the bank it came in. Laura married Richard L. Wilson and the couple had three awesome children, Richard (Ricky), Anthony, and Mari. Laura later married the love of her life, Ray Sperry, and they spent 18 amazing years together.

She volunteered for the Boy Scouts, coordinated and fundraised for Christmas gifts for the Yakima Indian Nation foster kids for several years, and was a philanthropist. She avidly played bingo and brought early morning donuts to everyone during apple season. She also loved to garden, work ceramics and crafts, camping and fishing, rock hunting, Sunday drives with family, and summer trips to the ocean.

Laura is survived by two children, Anthony Sperry, and Mari Sperry Taylor, granddaughters, KaMara Taylor and Kearsley Wiswell, and six siblings: MaryJo (James Barach, David (Doris) Vallem, Barbara Gleason, Cherry Everett, Nancy (Lee) Myers, and James (Mae) Vallem. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Osmond and Mary Vallem, son, Richard E. Wilson, Richard L. Wilson, and the love of her life, her husband, Ray Sperry.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the LDS Church at 705 S. 38th Avenue in Yakima at 1:00 pm.
