Carl Junior Denton, 77, died on May 5, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Carl was born on March 16, 1941, the son of Carl and Dora Ward Denton in the San Joaquin Valley, California. He was raised in Modesto, California where he graduated from high school in 1959. He moved to the Tacoma, Washington area where he welded in the ship yards. In 1968 he moved to Yakima and was working in a service station when he met Patricia Berg, they were married shortly after in 1969. In 1970 he was able to start his own business in the trucking and salvage industry, cars were always his passion, helping anyone he could, build or work on their hot rods with his partner in crime, Dan Shelton.

Carl was a big motor head, he loved to build and work on hot rods. He always had a project car or was helping with other people’s project cars, with his buddy, Dan. When he had some time off, because he loved to work, he enjoyed sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River or deer hunting in the Goldendale area. On weekends he would always have a big BBQ, so family could get together and spend time being together. Carl was the best provider a family could want, no one was ever in need or want for anything.
Carl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia, children, Carl (Nita) Denton, Mark (Laurie) Killingsworth, Brent Denton, and Robbin Denton, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Karla Dorais, and his parents.
Out of respect for Carl’s wishes private family services will be held on a future date.
