Heaven gained an angel April 4, 2018 with the passing of Lois Elaine Waller.
Lois Elaine Cole, daughter of Wilford and Marie (Shinner) Cole, was born on
September 29, 1928, in Havre, MT.
On April 25, 1950, Lois married Adrian J. “Swede” Waller. The couple raised four
children while finally settling in Yakima, WA. Lois chose to not work outside the
home. She felt her role was to take care of and raise their children. Swede and
Lois shared a wonderful life full of laughter with family and friends until Swede’s
death in June 1978. Even though he was no longer with her, Lois continued to
love him until her last breath. She often would share stories of their times
together with her grandchildren.
Lois enjoyed reading, traveling, and entertaining. She attended Holy Family
Church for many years with the highlight being daily mass with coffee afterwards
at McDonalds with the “gang.” Her strong Catholic faith filled her soul with
optimism that she shared with everyone around. More than anything Lois loved
spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandkids.
She got a kick out of “dressing up” & spoiling them as Grammy Great! She
giggled endlessly and her whole body would light up from head to toe as she told
stories whenever family visited.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents Wilford and Marie Cole, her husband
Adrian J. “Swede” Waller, her sisters Della Primley, Jean Stengem, and Dorothy
Solomon, and her brothers Bill Cole and Dick Cole.
Lois is survived by her children Lynn (Bob) Pahl, Jim (Maida) Waller, Amy Stiles,
and Rob (Teresa) Waller, her grandchildren Adrianne Phillips, Jessica Chase,
Stephanie Pahl, Justin Stiles, Morgan Waller, and Deven Waller, and 7 great
grandchildren, her sisters Thelma McLain and Ann LaCroix, and her brothers Jim
Cole and Tom Cole.
