Jerry was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on March 9, 2018 after a courageous battle with Huntington Disease. He was born on November 11, 1940 in Yakima to Gilbert and Mae Moen. He had a wonderful sense of humor and as his wife I have great memories of our years together. We were married for 49 faithful years of which he loved to tell people. He loved the outdoors. He was a past member of the Yakima Ridge Runners Jeep Club. He loved snowmobiling, fishing, boating, and camping, especially sitting around a big fire with friends. He went hunting with friends but not to hunt. He was the cook and they loved his cooking. He graduated from Davis High School and attended Yakima Valley Collage. He was in the National Guard and was very patriotic. He was diligent about putting out the flag every day. He worked in construction for his Dad, Gilbert Moen, growing up, worked for Nob Hill Water and Cascade Gas, and owned a tavern for a few years. He discontinued work many years ago due to his disease.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristi Moen Dale, his sister, MaryAnne Goodrich, also of Huntington Disease, brother, Don Moen, sister, Dorothy Holder, and brother, Raymond Britton.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, son, Jeff Moen of Seattle, granddaughter, Amanda Druffel of Arizona, brother-in-law, Steve Goodrich and family, sister-in-law, Kathy Moen and family, brother-in-law, Mike Sanders, sister-in-law, Terri Swart (Don) and family, and several cousins.
I would like to say a special thank you to the staff and the aides at Prestige Care and Rehab – Parkside. The love and kindness you showed while caring for Jerry and your support for me was always outstanding. Thank you! If you would like to honor Jerry’s memory you can make a donation to the Huntington Disease Foundation.
A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Spirit Alive Wesleyan Church (3601 Mountainview Ave., Yakima, WA 98901) at 11:00 am and a luncheon will follow the service.
