Sgt. Kenneth R. Hornbuckle answered his call home on February 5, 2018 at Cottage in the Meadow.

Ken was born in Yakima on January 16, 1951 to Ralph and Alta Hornbuckle the second of four children. Ken was raised in Selah and graduated from Selah High School with the class of 1969. After graduation, Ken enlisted in the Air Force where he worked alongside the Engineers. Ken served in the Vietnam and Thailand theaters. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Ken came back home and began his career in trucking, working for various produce and agricultural companies.
Ken leaped into marriage with Patricia Guffey on February 29, 2000 with 68 other couples setting a state record for the most couples simultaneously married. Together they spent most of their time riding in Ken’s truck making his deliveries. They both enjoyed fishing and being outdoors together.
Ken was sometimes perceived as “rough around the edges” but if you knew him you knew he had a soft spot on the inside and was very caring and loving. He was always appreciative of the kind thoughts and gestures extended his way.
Ken is lovingly survived by his wife, Patty, his three children; Christy, Sharon, and Kevin, his two sisters; Linda and Kathy, two grandchildren; William and Lisa, one niece, Melanie and her three children; Ella, Alivia, and Henry. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ted Hornbuckle.

A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for Saturday February 17th at 1:30 pm at Brookside Funeral Home where Military honors will be rendered.
