 Sherry L Schimschat, passed away February 1, 2018, in Yakima, following a courageous fight against kidney cancer.  She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 9, 1962 to James and Ann Koreis in Yakima, WA. 

The family moved to Ellensburg in 1978, where Sherry then graduated with the class of 1980.  In 1998 Sherry and her parents move to a farm in Thorp where she lived until her passing. 
Sherry went onto cosmetology school and at began work at the Band Box and then for at For Your Image up until November of 2017.
Her two black labs; Dragon and Hummer and cat Sparky were her kids, they loved their mama. 
Sherry was an avid bowler for years; here at Rodeo Bowl and in Yakima. She belonged to the Senior League at Nob Hill and this is where she met her husband Norman. She had many many friends in Yakima that enjoyed her company and will miss her greatly.  
Together they enjoyed their animals, bowling, drives through the countryside and just spending time at home. 
Sherry is survived by her husband Norman; mother Ann, two brothers; Leon Koreis of Michigan, Harold (Linda) Koreis of Graham, WA; two daughters Mandi (Justin) McCoy of Aztec, New Mexico, Darci Schimschat of Costa Mesa CA. two beautiful grandchildren Drake and Hadley McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her father James.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Sherry’s honor to the Northwest Kidney Centers in care of Brookside Funeral Home 101 E 2nd Ave. Ellensburg, WA 98926.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
