Marcia Lynn (Walker) VanHorn passed away Friday January 19th, 2018 after an extended illness. She leaves behind her husband and best friend Steven VanHorn, her daughter, Corinne (Schubert) Bennett, a son, Geoff Schubert, Steve’s daughter, Julie VanHorn and her grandchildren, Hunter, Branson, Corbin, and Camille.  She is also survived by three brothers Eugene Walker, Norman Walker, and James (Jim) Walker.
Marcia was born in Yakima on August 14th, 1956 to Raymond and Aliene Walker. She attended local schools and graduated from A.C. Davis High School in 1974. After spending some time in southern and eastern WA, she returned home to the Yakima Valley to help care for her mother and raise her children.
In the late 1980s she went to work for Tree Top Inc. in Selah, WA where she worked until she retired in 2015. It’s also where she met the love of her life, Steve. She enjoyed going out dancing, playing pool, or shooting darts. They would take their children on several camping trips and river floats, creating many fond memories.
Marcia was a kind, giving woman and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, January 28th, at 2:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee WA 98936).
