Jeffrey G. Parks, 54, passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital on December 23, 2017.

Jeff was born November 19, 1963 in Stockton, California and has resided in the Yakima Valley since 1972. He was a member of the 1981 graduating class of Selah High School, where he participated in his favorite sport of baseball. Jeff was drafted by the San Diego Padres, where he excelled in pitching, but his pro career was cut short because of a back injury. He was, however, able to continue his love of the game and played many years of softball in Yakima.  He shared great times and laughs with family and friends, celebrating special occasions, hosting an annual Horseshoe Tournament and watching and rooting for his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He was employed in the lawn care business before he began his career at Pepsi Co.

Jeff was the most caring and giving person. His heart was huge and always felt the need to make everyone around him feel better. Jeff’s time with his family was cherished and the time spent with his grandkids was most precious to him.

Jeff is survived by his mother and stepfather, Gayle and John Calvert of Yakima; his son, Joel (Toni) Parks of Boise, ID; sisters, Toni (Jim) Thomas of Outlook, Candy Calvert of Selah; his loving companion of 15 years, Teri Worrell, step-daughter Jennifer Worrell and mother-in-law Judy Brittain of Selah. Jeff is also survived by his grandchildren Jayden, Caleb, and Charlie Parks; Bryson, Greyson and Matixson Worrell; his nephew, Matt Thomas, nieces; Kelsee (Dylan) Robledo, Heaven Calvert, several aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended families, the Moss and the Davis, and many cherished friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene L. Parks, Jr., his grandparents and his step-daughter, Rashel Worrell

No formal services are planned at this time. Jeff will be honored at a Celebration of his life and a reception at a future date. His family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and prayers during this very difficult time.
