Glen Melvin Shaw, 77, of Cle Elum, WA., passed away on December 7, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Carl and Edith (Underwood) Shaw on March 31, 1940 in Sacramento, California.

As a young child Glen was able to travel to many places with his parents including Greece, but eventually returned to Sacramento to finish high school. Glen moved to Washington State in 1967 to manage the Chevron station in Moses Lake and eventually opened another station in Thorp, Washington, where he decided to make his home.  Soon after settling in the Thorp area he began driving log truck for Wes and Louie Gibson.  Dad met his beloved wife, Kathryn in Cle Elum, Washington, where they settled down and built their life.  Together they began working for Ellensburg Cement Products, which they continued until retirement.

Glen was a man that loved his family, enjoyed spending time with his friends and was capable of strongly stating his point.  He loved to argue just to see what kind of reaction he could get.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family outdoors fishing, drinking beer and talking about past times.  Glen was a true man of honor; a man that believed in a handshake agreement and possessed integrity to his very core.  He was the son that took care of his parents; a husband that loved his wife truly and a father that taught his children everything to his ability.  We love you Daddy!
Glen is survived by his children, Glenda (Michael) Hartzell, Lora Bishop, Ed (Darcy) Brower, Brenda League and Anthony Frelo; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren with one still cooking.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathryn Shaw, parents; Carl and Edith Shaw, his brother; James Shaw and his wonderful Mother-in-law Loris Allen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cle Elum Volunteer Firefighters Association in care of Brookside Funeral Home, 101 E 2nd Ave., Ellensburg, WA 98926
