Robert William Thomas, 79, passed away on December 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Robert was born the son of Joseph and Margaret (Miller) Thomas on December 18, 1937 in Richardton, North Dakota. When he was just four years old his family moved to Yakima, where he lived the rest of his life. He graduated from Marquette High School and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Cathedral. Robert would be introduced to Judy Sexton in 1962 while in the Army, they would marry August 16, 1964, and settle in Yakima. Robert worked for Boise Cascade for over 42 years until his retirement.

 
Robert was very passionate about music, playing the guitar and singing any chance he got. He always had loud music playing at the house, it was something he truly loved. He was a lover of cats, taking in strays when they would wonder to the house. He would always feed them when they came by and keep any that would let him. Robert was a die-hard Seahawks fan, finally able to enjoy a Super Bowl win with his team. 
 
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy, his children, Michael (Cristina) Thomas, Carmen (Jeff) Burckhard, and Bonita; his five grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, and Nathan Thomas, and Caleb and Brianna Burckhard. He is also survived by two sisters, Loretta Carl and Edna Fuchs, and a sister in law, Irene Thomas. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Albert and George Thomas, and sisters, Isabel James, Frieda Lockbeam, and Rosemary Fuller. 
 
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Brookside Funeral Home (500 Prospect, Moxee, WA 98936) from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Paul Cathedral at 10:00 am, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
