God got a very special angel.

Linda Doreen (Watson) Gordon was born on December 21st, 1957, in Tigard, Oregon to James Colton and Doreen Mary (Bisceglia) Watson.  Linda‘s family moved to Yakima in 1972. She graduated from Eisenhower High school in 1976.

After high school Linda went to ITT Peterson Business College in Seattle. After graduating from there in 1977, she moved back to Yakima to work. Linda took great pride in being an impeccable bookkeeper.

On August 27th, 1983 Linda married the love of her life, Gary Gordon. An amazing husband who loved and took care of her until the very end of their adventure on this earth. With her marriage to Gary came three stepdaughters and a stepson. Linda was a stepmom full of unconditional love.

Some of Linda’s hobbies were clay classes with her mother, building scale miniatures and she was an amazing seamstress. Linda also loved her three rescue cats very much.

What she really excelled at was being a supportive stepmother to her stepchildren, a wonderful sister to her five siblings and a loyal daughter to her parents. Linda could always be counted on to help when times were tough and celebrate when times were good. Linda had a confidence most lack, and she lovingly embraced (unapologetically) who she was.

Linda was taken way to soon. On November 5th, 2017, surrounded by family, her body let go and her spirit went to be with the Lord.

She leaves behind her husband Gary Gordon; her stepdaughters Connie (James) Peterson of Rainier, OR; Debbie Bidner of Yakima, WA and Vicki (Jim) Strickland of Ellensburg, WA.; eight grandchildren; siblings Christine & Gary Swanson of Fernly, NV, Cathleen & Clay Rhodes of Battle Ground, WA., David & Lesley Watson of Yakima, James & Michelle Watson, Jr. of Bonney Lake, WA and Thomas & Deanna Watson of Newport, WA; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend Beth Brulotte.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Doreen Watson, and stepson Michael D. Gordon.

Our family would like to thank the numerous friends and neighbors who reached out to help during this very difficult time, and for being a part of her life.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at Yakima Foursquare Church, 700 N. 40th Ave. Yakima, WA.

The family suggests memorials to the Yakima Humane Society in Linda’s name.
