Zachary “Zach” Leslie Goertler, 32, of Yakima, peacefully passed away, of natural causes, on November 2, 2017.  He was born on December 18, 1984 to Charles and Susan Goertler, in Yakima, WA.
Zach was a very social person.  Extremely involved in the AA family, he impacted many lives.  He was a big dreamer, always thinking outside of the box.  He was reaching for his future by attending YVC and hoping to become a positive influence by providing counseling to those who also have their struggles.  Zach was an overcomer.  He loved his family deeply and was very proud of his son, Lil’ Z.
Lil’ Z wants his dad to know 2 things: “Dad I really, really, really, love you & I will miss you and my mom.”
He is survived by his son, Zachary C. Goertler, and parents, Chuck and Sue Goertler, and brothers, Michael (Angel) and Andrew (Erica) Goertler. He is also survived by his grandparents, Leonard & Judy Russell, and grandfather, Charles Goertler.  His nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts, a large extended family, and the Larkin Family are also surviving.  Zach is preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Goertler, and grandmother, Carleen Goertler, and great grandparents, Hub & Marjorie Wallingford, and Leslie & Ethel Russell. Stephanie Larkin, Lil’ Z’s mother, also precedes Zach in death.
Visitation is planned for Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 12:00PM with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00PM, both at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee).  It is requested that to honor Zach you wear your favorite hat to the Funeral Service.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Zachary Goertler Memorial Fund, established for the ongoing care of his son, Lil’ Z, and sent payable to Chuck or Sue Goertler in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family.
