Blain George Nott passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.  Blain was born as the youngest twin into the home of Douglas and Pamela Nott in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1968. Blain graduated from West Valley High School and completed courses in music at Yakima Valley College.  He went on to play string bass in the Yakima Symphony Orchestra and the Yakima Community Band.  He also played electric bass in modern rock groups with his twin brother on the drums and guitar. He could play anything from Mozart thru Rush, including his own compositions.  He also played in jazz groups.
Blain was also an accomplished composer of all genera including “Classical”, “Jazz” as well as “Rock”. At the time of his death he was just finishing a String Quartet with his twin brother, Brian. BRS Music Publishers looked at his works for publication.
Blain was also a good fly fisherman and enjoyed belly boating at Leech Lake or fly fishing the Naneum Creek.  Dedicated he was. One-time belly boating on Leech Lake he had a seizure and passed out for a while.  When he came out of it he just went on fishing to catch his limit.  Blain was a very kind person.  He would go out of his way to help someone less fortunate than he.  He was also a hard worker no matter what job he did.
Blain is survived by his dad, Douglas D. (Debby) Nott, and his mother, Pam (Herb) Schmidt, his brothers Chad (Lisa) Nott, of Lake Stevens, and his twin brother, Brian (Melissa) Nott, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Blanche Pence and Wayne Nott and Caroline Paulson.
Indeed, Blain will be missed by his friends and family.
