Doris (Birch) Rairdan, 96, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She passed peacefully in her sleep.

Doris was born December 29, 1920, in Whitetail, Mt. She was the third of ten children. The Birch family moved to Oroville, WA in 1932. Doris attended and graduated from Oroville High School. She met Oscar Rairdan in Oroville and they were married in Tonasket, WA in 1939. They moved to Bremerton in 1941 and then to Ellensburg in 1943 where they farmed and milked cows. Doris enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing, cooking, taking care of her children and entertaining guests. In 1959, they bought the Koffee Kup Café in Ellensburg where Doris was the chief cook and bottle washer until 1968. She made pies and soup from scratch on a daily basis. They continued to farm in the Kittitas Valley until 1981 and enjoyed lots of traveling during retirement. Doris lost her soul mate, Oscar, in 1995 due to Cancer. She continued to travel to several world countries with her daughter Betty and other family members. She really enjoyed their travels together. She was a member of the Ellensburg Assembly of God church for decades and was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Council. She really enjoyed the weekly meetings with the ladies. Doris and Oscar had four children; Eugene (Iris) Rairdan 1940-1975, Virginia (Orville) Woolard, Betty Rairdan 1945-2005 and Don (Fran) Rairdan. 
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, son Eugene, daughter Betty, grandson Brad Woolard, brothers Glen, Dwayne, Lyle, Lindy, Roy, Gareth and sister Elnore Spanton.  She is survived by her sister Vivian Emery, brother Wayne Birch, daughter Virginia (Orville) Woolard, son Don (Fran) Rairdan, daughter-in-law Iris Rairdan, grandchildren Pamela Woolard, Rhonda (Craig) Leishman, Steven Rairdan, Keven Rairdan, Jim Rairdan, Anita McCoy, Andrea Rairdan and 16 great granchildren. 
She was a wonderful wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She will be remembered especially for her kindness and unconditional love for her family. 
There will be a graveside service 10:00 AM Friday, August 11, at the IOOF Cemetary, 1900 Brick RD., Ellensburg, WA followed by a Celebration of Life at the Kittitas Community Church, 302 N. Pierce St., Kittitas, Wa.
