Gerald Francis Henry “Jerry” of Selah passed away July 6th at Garden Village. Gerald was born in Tacoma, Washington on August 6, 1939. His family later moved to Richland Washington, where he attended high school.  After living in Richland, he found his forever home in Selah, Washington.

Gerald who preferred to be called Jerry was married for 28 years to Gerry Henry, “Jerry and Gerry” as they are known in the Selah community. Jerry had such a beautiful love for his wife; you could just see it in his eyes every time he looked at her. Their love for each other was undeniable.
Jerry had a love for the Selah Community, for 30 years he worked with Selah Community days and built the Selah Float. That float was his pride and joy and even in his final days he would still talk about his days building the float with his wife.
Jerry was an active and proud Selah Kiwanian for many years.  Jerry was always willing to help anyone in need, but usually he would tell you a joke beforehand. He loved to tell jokes, if you ran into him he always had a new one on hand.  Jerry worked at Kwik Lok in Yakima until his retirement in 2010. While working for Kwik Lok he had the privilege of traveling the world. Jerry learned to speak several languages during his travels; everything came to him with such ease.  Jerry always had a love for adventure, whether it was scuba diving, traveling, or eating exotic foods in different countries, he embraced life and lived it to the fullest. He did things most of us will only dream about.
His favorite moments were telling his Grandkids stories of all the places he had been, or helping them with their homework and then correcting the teacher’s mistakes on the paperwork. Anyone who knew Jerry knows this was so him, he was very intelligent.  When the grandkids were younger he would take them to the dump and then out for ice-cream.  He loved his ice cream and chocolate.
In his younger years, he served his country in the Navy and was proud to be a veteran.
Jerry was the type of man that worked hard and never wanted any recognition for his efforts.  His strength, courage and love for everyone always came shining through. When you had a problem, you could always go to him and he knew just what to do. Jerry will be missed by so many people.
He is survived by his wife Gerry Henry, a brother, Paul Henry, a sister, Helen Fa’amoe, 6 children; Miki Landis, Tami Wilson, Kevin Henry, Louis Seaman, Diane Frenzel and Kristi Lunning, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a new great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlan and Gertrude Henry, and a brother, Noel Henry.
Jerry will forever be in our hearts, never forgotten.  His spirit, smile and laugh will live in our hearts forever!!
