Gerald Patrick “Pat” Simmons, 86, passed away on June 26, 2017 at Virginia Mason Memorial. Pat was born on August 21, 1930, the son of Charles and Marjorie (Fredrick) Simmons in Yakima, WA. Pat was raised in the Nile and went to school in Naches, where he graduated high school in 1948. He met a cute red head at a local dance, Frances, and were married shortly after in 1949. Three children followed, David, Diane, and Michael.

Pat was a true outdoorsman, hunting and fishing every chance he got. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman, hunting both elk and deer, and fishing for salmon and sturgeon in this area. He loved going on hunting trips to Colville with his grandkids. Pat was part of a bowling league for many years, bringing home several trophies. He was very much a family man, enjoying having his grandchildren around and telling stories. Pat always said he never knew a stranger.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Frances, his three children, David (Judy) Simmons, Diane (George) Marcott, and Mike (Christina) Simmons. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachel Simmons, Austin Simmons, Becky (Chris) Richter, Edith (Ryan) Dibble, George (Kaylee) Marcott, Jeff (Jenny) Simmons, Chad (Julee) Simmons, Shawn (Kathie) Phipps, Nicole (Chris) O’Brine, Derrick (Lindsay) Jacobs, Jared (Michele) Jacobs, and Jena (Jake Bos) Jacobs, as well as 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia (Bob) Cheney, and brother Ron (Mary Beth) Simmons, and aunt Louise Dibble, as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved. He is survived by his lifelong friend Jerry Longmire, who shared his same name, “Gerald”, the same birthday and many good times. Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Simmons, sister, Alice Lorraine Simmons, and many uncles and aunts.
