Valentine “Val” A. Roll, 88, of Yakima, peacefully passed away at the Cottage In The Meadow on May 17, 2017.  He was born on August 10, 1928, in Burt, North Dakota to Alexander and Anna Roll.  He married Nita Kranich on August 8, 1951.  Val served in the US National Guard, for which he was proud, remaining a patriot for life.
Val spent his career in sheet metal work in the south Seattle area.  Val built many memories with his family and friends; camping, dancing the Polka, and entertaining.  He was a hard worker, a good dad, and a wonderful husband.  He was active in the church, volunteering for many hours.  Val and Nita enjoyed every minute of their 65-year marriage.  They were true companions and friends throughout life.  Into retirement they enjoyed traveling together in their RV and spending time together. Val was a good man. His life well lived will be remembered by those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Nita, and their son, Jeff (Patti) Roll, all of Yakima, and granddaughter, Rachel Roll.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kari Roll, his parents, and his 5 siblings.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for Friday, May 26th, 2017 at 11:00 at Central Lutheran Church.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cottage In The Meadow’s Capital Campaign or Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936).
