Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle William “Bill” Brown passed away May 18, 2017. Born in Toppenish on October 24, 1938 to Christopher and Rose Brown, he was the youngest of four children. Bill was a wonderful, loving, humble, and caring man. He and Sharon would have been married 61 years this September. He was a devoted husband and a loving father to their three daughters. Bill and Sharon have many fond memories of camping, and their fishing trips. Bill was a farmer and a mechanic at heart for all of his life. He started farming at the age of ten on his parent’s farm. He went to work for the Batali family shortly after marriage and continued with them for 40 years. He was an innovative mechanic and kept the farm equipment in top shape, often modifying the equipment. This love of farming and mechanics continued after his retirement with his gardens and his shops. He always was awake before sunrise and always outside all day. Bill enjoyed his mornings at coffee with his many friends in Harrah. Bill had a teasing sense of humor which his family and friends enjoyed.  He was always willing to help someone out and had a very giving nature. He will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon, his daughter, Debbie Burrus and her husband, Lonnie and their children, Commander (USCG) Christopher Burrus and his wife Fara and daughters; Kelsie, Devon, and Sydney, Bonnie Clarke and her husband Sheldon and baby Josiah. “God, saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be
So, he closed his arms around you and whispered, come to me.
You didn’t deserve what you went through and so he gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back to suffer that again.”
At Bill’s request, there will be no formal funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at his home on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or Cottage in the Meadow in c/o Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267 Moxee WA 98936)
