Ted Sonstegaard lost his 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer on May 5, 2017.  Ted was born in Seattle on August 1, 1945.  He grew up in Bellevue, the son of Edwin and Thelma Sonstegaard, graduating from Sammamish High School in 1963.

Ted joined the Marine Corps in 1963 but was medically discharged after boot camp due to an allergy of wool in the uniforms and blankets.
Ted went to work for Seattle City Light in 1968 becoming a Lineman in 1970, an occupation he loved his whole life.  He married Coleen Wells, October 22, 1971 in Seattle, then moved to Kennewick, WA, and later to Ellensburg in 1975.
He had many hobbies, but coaching Babe Ruth Baseball from 1978-1996 were his favorite years.  He also loved fishing, hunting and team roping.  He continued to team rope until February of this year.
Ted is survived by his wife Coleen, his son Ron Sonstegaard and wife Lisa, son Bret Sonstegaard, daughter Selenia Hamblin and husband Travis, 3 grandsons Tyler, Lane and Chance, his sister Darlene Smith and husband Ted, many in-laws, out-laws and much loved cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held May 21, 2017 at 12:00 at Weststar Ranch, 1570 Robinson Canyon Rd.
 In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Friends or an animal charity of your choice.
