Phyllis A. Stevens (Baker) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Yakima Regional Medical Center. Phyllis was born on August 7, 1937 in Yakima, WA. She was the 7th of 8 children and the last surviving member of her family.
Phyllis met Hershel Stevens in 1954 and married on September 24, 1955. She was a loving and dedicated mother and wife. Her family was always at the center of her life and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for her children.
Phyllis loved to go camping and ATV/Motorcycle riding. Over the years there were many handmade creations for her children, grandchildren, as well as great grandchildren. Her favorite hobby of all was gardening. She got a great deal of joy when the little kids looked at (but don’t touch) the flowers.
Phyllis is lovingly survived by her husband of 61 years, Hershel Stevens, her children; Elizabeth Rose Easley, Steve (Tonia) Stevens, Anita (Chuck) Glenn and Willie Stevens. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Ricky (Shaunna) Stevens, Sean Glenn, Patrick (Sara) Glenn, Darrin (Kylie) Stevens, Darryl Stevens, Bryan Stevens, Kristina Stevens, Hershel Stevens, Kaylee Stevens, and great-grandchildren; Bryce, Zack, Robert, Hunter, Jacob, Maycee, Sylas, Braxton, Sydney and Bailey plus numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her good friend Terrie Arter.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Lester, Jenni, Bud, Fran, Pat, Lorraine and Bob, as well as her granddaughter Rachelle.
Our mother’s final conscious act on this Earth was to accept Jesus Christ as her savior, and for that we are overjoyed. Rest in his arms.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00pm at the CrossPoint Church in Yakima (7803 W. Ahtanum Rd., Yakima WA.) with a Reception to follow.
