Misty Dawn Colson left to be with her Heavenly Father on April 6th, 2017. Misty was born in Atchison, Kansas August 20th, 1975 to Dennis and Debbie (McCray) Colson. She moved with her family to Yakima in 1978 and except for 7 years living in the Eastside Seattle area, Misty called Yakima home.
Misty cocktailed and bartended in various restaurants and casinos. She also enjoyed the rewards of working with people with developmental disabilities.
Misty loved her three sons, Izaya, Julian and Justin. She especially enjoyed camping with the boys, enjoying the beauty of the outdoors and enjoying precious moments together. Misty loved to sing karaoke. She had a beautiful voice. On rare occasions she’d sing with Mom, sister Lisa and brother Steve. Those were memorable moments for each of us, enjoying our love for music and one another. Misty loved to spend time with her great niece Jazzlynn. On one occasion, she had purchased a princess outfit with all the works! Jazzlynn was so happy and she played her part to perfection!
Misty loved yard sales! I don’t believe she ever missed one.
Misty was a beautiful, loving, humble and kind woman who’d give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need. She loved to have fun and enjoy life. Our family functions won’t be the same without her smile, silly laugh and her air headed moments. That was the Misty we knew and loved. That’s the Misty we’ll keep in our hearts and our memories. She touched everyone in a special way. Her loss is a significant one and she will be missed immensely.
Misty is survived by her sons Izaya Colson-Cerda, Julian Hernandez and Justin Beghtol, companion Matt Waulkenhauer, best friend Justin Beghtol, mother Debbie (Jeff) Wallace, father Dennis (Kathy) Colson, brother Steven (Beth) Colson, sister Lisa Littrell, nieces and nephews Jorell, Abby, Steve, Aaron and Giauna. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Sheila McCray, and paternal grandparents, Alvin and Rose Colson.
Misty’s Memorial will be held April 15th, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Christ the King Community Church, 15 N. 7th Ave. Please come and share your memories!
